Williams is a Cavendish-group banana widely grown in Australia, South Africa, and parts of South America. It is very similar to Grand Nain but tends to produce slightly larger individual fruit. For home growers, Williams and Grand Nain are largely interchangeable in performance and care requirements.
Growing Conditions
Same as Grand Nain — full sun, rich soil, heavy feeding and watering. Zones 9 through 11.
Common Issues
Same disease profile as Grand Nain: susceptible to Panama disease TR4 and Black Sigatoka.
